Hood's field hockey, women's and men's lacrosse and women's and men's soccer teams competed on a state-of-the-art FieldTurf field which was renovated in the summer of 2009. The $2.5 million project, includes a new locker room facility, picnic area, landscaping, storage facilities, a multi-purpose scoreboard and a portable press box to accommodate game operations staff.
Admission to athletic contests at Thomas Athletic Field is free for all fans.

Completed in November 2011, local firms Warner Construction and Zavos Architecture + Design teamed up to construct the 41,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art multipurpose Ronald J. Volpe Athletic Center, which includes the 1,600-seat basketball/volleyball rena (with space for 500 additional floor-level seats), an observation deck, a two-level fitness center and cardio room, an athletic training room, locker rooms, an athletic hall of fame recognition display, a concession area, a hospitality and meeting room and office spaces. Originally named the Hood Athletic Center, the name was changed on March 27, 2015 to honor retiring president Dr. Ronald J. Volpe.
